Lodge 148
About the project
Lodge 148
We were able to build a home that reflects the client’s love of entertaining as well as giving it the desired lodge feel by using stone and local timber from the farm.
It’s is affectionately known as Lodge 148 now. Apriority of the owner was to have all the four bedrooms opening on to the award winning outdoor area. This has been achieved by stacker slider doors, giving a feeling of the outdoors coming in.
The outdoor area has a warm, welcoming feel and is well equipped for entertaining all year around with an open fire. Guests can enjoy freshly made pizzas from the pizza oven or the classic Kiwi barbecue using the gas barbecue out there.
Speaking of food, the kitchen is both a chef and entertainer’s dream as the breakfast bar was designed to encourage people to enjoy themselves and keep the family and friends feeling united during any entertainment at the home.
Of course, family and friends could also enjoy the spacious living room which has the unique use of Gibbston Valley schist on the walls and round the fireplace, which complements the use of red beech timber flooring. The exterior of the house is clad in Gibbston Valley schist and western red cedar weatherboards.
The successful build and the extremely satisfied clients emphasised how well Peter Vossen Builders can make plans come to life in a way that exceeded expectations.
